Symbols and Types of Plastics:

Symbol 1:

Plastic type is PETG or PETE or PET and is used for soft drink bottles, water bottles, fruit juice containers.

Symbol 2:

Plastic type is HDPE i.e. High Density Polyethylene and is used for shampoo bottles, washing detergents, grocery bags.

Symbol 3:

PVC or Polyvinyl Chloride  is commonly used in cleaning products, sheets like foils and trays for fruits.

Symbol 4:

LDPE i.e. Low density Polyethylene is used in bread bags, plastic films etc.

Symbol 5:

PP or Polypropylene is used in Yogurt cups, straws, hangers. It is safer for food and medicine storage.

Symbol 6:

PS or Polystyrene is commonly used in toys, cosmetic bags etc.

Symbol 7:

Symbol 7 Plastic includes more than one type of plastics like acrylic, Polyacrylic fibers and fiberglass.
